Makerere University Business School has opened scholarships solely for persons with disabilities for the 2024/2025 academic year. Scholarship provisions for PWDs will improve access and opportunities for academic development at university level, articulating MUBS’ commitment to inclusive education.
Scholarship Details:
MUBS will offer two scholarships:
- Bachelor’s Degree Program: For applicants admitted to the bachelor’s degree program jointly offered by Makerere University and MUBS.
- Ordinary Diploma Program: For candidates admitted to an Ordinary Diploma program offered and taught at MUBS Main Campus or its Regional Campuses in Arua, Jinja, Mbale, and Mbarara.
Application Deadline:
The closing date for receiving applications is Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at 5:00 pm.
How to Apply:
- Application Form: Obtain the application form from the School Registrar’s Office, Block 5, at the reception or download it from www.mubs.ac.ug starting Friday, August 09, 2024.
- Submit the Application: Fill in the application form and submit it at the reception Block 5 with the following documents:
- Application Form
- Admission Letter
- O’ Level Result Slip and Certificate
- A’ Level Result Slip and Certificate
- Proof of Payment
- Recent photograph (Do not staple)
Scholarship Coverage:
- Tuition Waiver: 100% tuition fees are covered.
- Functional Fees: Beneficiaries shall pay functional fees.
- Validity: The Scholarship is valid for one academic year and renewable annually for the number of two times for undergraduate programs upon satisfactory performance.
- Duration: The fellowship shall be completed within a period of three years for the bachelor’s programs and two years for the Ordinary Diploma programs. Retakes are at one’s own cost.
- Deferral: An offer of the scholarship cannot be deferred. If a successful applicant requests to apply for next year, a new application is required.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Must have an Admission Letter to any of the MUBS programs for the current Academic Year.
- Must be enrolled in a degree program jointly offered by Makerere University and MUBS or an Ordinary Diploma program offered and taught at MUBS Main Campus or its Regional Campuses.
- Be a student with a disability as defined by the National Council for Disability Act 2003, and currently pursuing any program at MUBS.
- Must be a Ugandan citizen and not more than 30 years old at the time of application for the bachelor’s degree or 20 years old for Ordinary Diploma programs.
- Must provide UNEB UCE and UACE Results Slips and Certificates or its equivalent and Diploma transcripts/Certificates for verification.
