Kampala International University is going to host its freshers in an elaborate Fresher’s Orientation Week from 26th to 30th August. The theme for this year is “Begin with the End in Mind,” and it stresses that one should start the university journey with an accomplished focus on what one wants to end up with in life.
26th – 27th August (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM):
The week begins with requirements in reporting, registration, and accommodation. Freshers would have some settling-in time to ensure that their admission and other administrative procedures are complied with.
28th August (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM):
The new students will be given orientation booklets and advised of the different university policies, e.g., bursary and financial policies. Included is the various student welfare, accommodation, health services, games, and sports. In addition, important admission issues, registration procedures, and guidelines on course change are also included. In summary, the day ends up with the Matriculation ceremony where the new students take an Oath of Alliance.
30th August (8:00 AM – 2:00 PM):
On the last day, a documentary video about KIU plays, and therefore students are helped to get an insight into the history of the university and the way of life at KIU. Freshmen are sent off on that day with a keynote address, “Shaping Your University Journey,” which drives them into utilizing the days they will spend at KIU to gain the best knowledge they can. In continuation, the ceremony went on with some testimonials from KIU graduates, wound up with open panel discussions where the students put their questions through and got to meet the university officials and alumni.
