Busitema University announces its 15th Graduation Ceremony to take place on Friday, 29th November 2024, at the Main Campus. A reasonable number of students will be graduated with various degrees, diplomas, and certificates, an occasion of great importance to both the institution and the graduands.
This auspicious occasion will be graced by no other than the Guest of Honor, the President of the Republic of Uganda, H.E. Yoweri Museveni Tibuhaburwa. His participation underscores the critical role of higher education in national development and, as a matter of fact, the different contribution which Busitema University has been and continues to make toward meeting the country’s need for a workforce that is intellectually and professionally endowed.
Busitema University finds the 15th Graduation Ceremony very significant in the growth and continued performance of the University, both in academic and research activities. Since the inception of Busitema University, it has always formed a goal of ensuring that students graduating from the institution are equipped with knowledge and skills that would solve Uganda’s socio-economic challenges.
These will be graduands from various programs, which include but are not limited to Engineering, Health Sciences, Natural Resources, Education, and Agriculture. As one of the key public universities in Uganda, Busitema designs its academic programs to meet the demands of the modern economy, with special emphasis on science, technology, and innovation.
Thus, graduating students are willing to celebrate their great achievement with family, friends, and university staff. In fact, many have gone through intensive coursework, internships, and research projects to reach this great day. To some, this will be a stepping stone toward employment in local and international markets, while others may continue their academic journeys.
Besides academic merit, the university will also be awarding other special honors to students for leadership, community service, and extracurricular activities. These awards are one way of recognizing not only academic achievement but also the general contribution of students to the life of the university community.
Busitema University has played a significant role in the higher education system of Uganda, especially with the focus on courses that are so crucial for the country’s development like agriculture, engineering, and health sciences. The institution has always produced highly valued graduates by Uganda’s job market to contribute toward sectors that drive economic growth.
Starting with government support led by the Ministry of Education and Sports, capacity building coupled with resource increase at Busitema University has enabled the institution to expand its quality education provision to more students in the country.
This graduation ceremony is going to be highly colorful, with speeches from high-ranking university officials expected to grace the occasion, such as the Vice Chancellor and Deans of Faculties, among others, and representatives from the Ministry of Education. It is expected that the President will talk to the government’s efforts in support of higher education and the role of universities in the attainment of Vision 2040-the Long-term National Development Strategy of Uganda.
The event will be celebrated with a cultural presentation of the students and by officially conferring the degrees, diplomas, and certificates.
As Busitema University prepares to host this day of days, the entire university community is at fever pitch with excitement.
