Bishop Stuart University has reacted to false and defamatory allegations made by one Dr. Abudallah Nkoyoyo, the Project Director of USAID LPHS TASO Ankole, during an address at Mbarara City Council premises on 24th September 2024. In a video that is circulating on social media, Dr. Nkoyoyo falsely purports that female students at Bishop Stuart University engage in indecent behaviors, including selling sex to him and other corporate men. He further accuses the university of having lost control over its students.
In a press release issued by the university management dated 25th September 2024, such allegations were denied as baseless, false, and malicious. It said it was very concerned over the disrespectful nature of the remarks against the ladies who study and stay in the campus.
This university was a fully chartered Christian institution and had stated its commitment to upholding Christian values and providing a safe, caring environment for all of its students. Citing its firm mission of offering quality education within a Christian context, Bishop Stuart University categorically denied the claims brought forward by Dr. Nkoyoyo.
This has compelled Bishop Stuart University to demand that Dr. Nkoyoyo immediately retract and publicly apologize. The university warned of further action against Dr. Nkoyoyo if he fails to apologize.
The institution called upon members of the public to disregard the defamatory video and treat the claims with the contempt they deserve, reassuring them of their commitment to courteous coexistence, as well as academic excellence for students.
