Dr. Sabrina Kitaka, a Senior Lecturer at Makerere University, was the recipient of the maiden Majid Sadigh MD Scholarship-an award of great recognition within the medical field. She is a specialist in the fields of Paediatrics, Infectious Diseases, and Adolescent Health Care. Dr. Kitaka expressed her excitement and gratitude upon receiving the award.
The scholarship is named after Dr. Majid Sadigh, a highly acclaimed physician and humanitarian who has gained much popularity in the global health circles. The aim of the Majid Sadigh MD Scholarship is advanced training, research, and professional development for health professionals, with a particular emphasis on those from regions with under-resourced economies.
Dr. Kitaka’s commitment to adolescent healthcare has been remarkable throughout her professional life, and she surely deserves this award. Her main focus has been oriented towards the standard improvement of health care and education for adolescents; thus, when talking about Uganda, Dr. Kitaka has contributed much to the development of these fields far beyond.
