Media personality Sheilah Gashumba has taken to X, revealing that she and the newly crowned Miss Uganda, Natasha Nyonyozi, were once schoolmates. According to Gashumba, both attended Taibah Junior School, where she studied from Primary Two to Primary Six.
This has, despite the personal revelation, sparked controversy regarding the congratulatory messages sent to Nyonyozi. Gashumba’s congratulatory post might have been sent to a fake X account since another account under the name Nyonyozi has claimed the actual congratulatory account is not real.
It is after an eventful ceremony held at the Sheraton Hotel in Kampala on August 3, 2024, that Natasha Nyonyozi was crowned Miss Uganda 2024/25. This young lady emerged the winner after conquering other beauties, including Suraya Umeimah Bashuaeb as first runner-up and Joan Nabatanzi as the second runner-up. Nyonyozi takes over from Hannah Karema Tumukunde, who was Miss Uganda 2023/24.
Born and raised in Kyonyo, Kamuganguzi, near Katuna in the Kabale district, Nyonyozi impressed during the Miss Uganda pageant with her charisma, elegance, compassion, and confidence. She had contestant number two among the 28 finalists, and she was elected as the president of the Miss Uganda class of 2024/25.
Natasha Nyonyozi studied at Coventry University in England, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science with Honors in Accounting and Finance. Currently, she is an entrepreneur operating a beauty parlour called “Girl Hive” located at The Cube, Kisementi, Shop B20.
