Mbarara University of Science and Technology has announced that Mr. Vincent Kwatampora Kansime is the new University Secretary. The appointment took effect on July 1, 2024, after a decision originally made during the 99th Council meeting of the university.
Mr. Kwatampora has spent the last six years at MUST, working in the Procurement & Disposal Unit as its head. His exhibition in leadership ability is further attested by his position as Chairperson of the Senior Administrators’ Forum and a Council member.
He takes over from Mr. Melchior Byaruhanga, who spent 27 years at the University, the last six as University Secretary. The university issued a warm message of congratulations to Mr. Kwatampora in an official announcement on X.
The University Secretary’s role is pivotal in the integrity, efficiency, and effectiveness of the administrative functions of the university, thus supporting the mission of the latter toward academic excellence and research.
