The Academic Registrar, Makerere University, hereby announces the re-advertisement for undergraduate programmes for the 2024/2025 Academic Year. The applications are invited from Ugandan, East African, and international applicants seeking admission under both Government Sponsorship (BVL) and private sponsorship schemes.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must possess the following:
- Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE): At least five passes or its equivalent.
- Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education: One should obtain at least two principal passes at the same sitting. Applicants who sat A’ Level 2023, 2022, and 2020 are eligible for a day’s programmes. For evening, afternoon, and external programs, one is not limited by the year of sitting A’ Level.
OR
- Degree: One should be from a recognized-chartered institution.

Application Deadline
The closing date for receipt of applications for admission to undergraduate programmes is Friday, July 26, 2024.
Important Warnings
- Applicants are strongly warned against presenting forged or other people’s academic documents to support their applications for admission. The consequences, if discovered, are very grave indeed.
- Do not buy any other documents not originating from the Academic Registrar’s Office. Those who buy them do so at their own risk.
- The Academic Registrar has not appointed any agent to act on his behalf to solicit for additional funds other than the application fee stated above.
- Applicants are advised to use the right programme names and codes. The university will not be responsible for any wrong information entered in the system by applicants.
