Lira University is at an advanced stage constructing a multi-billion-shilling Administration Block that is set to be completed in the next three months. The administration complex, the hub of the university’s administration, is expected to be completed by December this year and handed over in January 2025.
This was evidenced by Lt. Aggrey Bdhajala, the site engineer from NEC, when he confirmed during the recent site meeting on September 26, 2024, that most construction works are completed. The project, valued at UGX 13.8 billion, has Technology Consults Ltd. as the managing director to ensure that quality and efficiency in development processes are respected.
The meeting was graced by Emma Aceng, the Dean of Students, representing the Vice Chancellor Prof. Jasper Ogwal Okeng and hailed NEC for the timely progress and keeping to deadlines. She noted that the new building will serve a very important purpose, as it will house a number of departments and offices, thereby increasing the capacity of service delivery for the university.
The Administration Block provides a milestone for the University as it attains yet another key landmark in the University’s growth and denotes the continued drive in putting in place improved infrastructural and educational facilities for its students and staff.
