Uganda Christian University is mourning the death of another student, Joan Mirana Wanyana, a first-year student of Data Science and Analytics. This is just days after the university lost another student, Lillian Kampi, a second-year Nursing student, something that has kept the atmosphere on campus gloomy.
Agira Birungi, the 26th Guild President of UCU announced today through a post from X that indeed Joan Mirana Wanyana had died in the hospital. The incident has been communicated to the university community, though the details about the cause of her death are not yet revealed.
This becomes the second tragedy to have struck UCU in a short while. This is after last week the body of Lillian Kampi was found dead in her hostel, and investigations into the cause of death are still ongoing.
The incidences of death within such a short period have left the UCU community in shock. The students were still sad as some showed empathy to the families that lost their loved ones.
