A disturbing video has emerged on social media showing security guards at Akamwesi Hostel in Kampala brutally assaulting a student who was already handcuffed. The incident sparked off widespread anger among students, parents, and the public, raising serious questions about the conduct of hostel security personnel.
The video-as it is nearly two minutes-is filled with multiple guards around the student. Despite his restraint and apparent, visible distress, the guards make sure to continue striking and shoving him while completely disregarding his pleas of mercy. In one of the most disturbingly graphic incidents in the video, the student had been dragged across the floor and forced to sit against a wall as the guards continued their attack by using their hands, once or twice a baton.
His pleas for help are loud and clear, while none interfere to stop the violence. The video has gone viral since then, drawing condemnation from all corners, with people seeking accountability for this act of atrocity done to the student.
