Bishop Stuart University Invites Scholarship Applications for August 2024/25: Prof. Rukare Family Scholarship with UGX 50,000,000 Fund
Bishop Stuart University (BSU) is pleased to announce the opening of scholarship applications for the August Intake 2024/25 academic year. This opportunity is available through the Prof. Rukare Family Scholarship, which is fully funded with UGX 50,000,000 to support meritorious students pursuing a Bachelor of Education.
Background Information
The Prof. Rukare Family Scholarship was established by the family of the Late Prof. Rukare, the first Vice-Chancellor of Bishop Stuart University. The scholarship was announced during BSU’s 20th anniversary celebrations. The UGX 50,000,000 scholarship fund has been received and banked into the BSU account, as confirmed by the University Finance Officer.
The vision of this scholarship is to transform the lives of individuals who otherwise cannot afford higher education. Its mission is to assist academically capable but economically challenged students through an open and transparent selection process.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Prof. Rukare Family Scholarship, applicants must meet the following conditions:
- Admission: Must have an admission letter to pursue either a Bachelor of Arts with Education or a Bachelor of Science with Education for the August Intake 2024/25.
- Good Academic Performance: Must have performed well in A-level examinations, with results not more than 2 years old.
- Financial Need: Must demonstrate financial need and provide a recommendation from their LC 1 chairperson.
- Religious Recommendation: Must provide a recommendation from a leader of their religious affiliation.
- Verification: The Scholarship Committee will verify the authenticity of the information provided through due diligence.
- Interviews: Shortlisted applicants will be required to participate in oral interviews.
