Kampala International University, at its 29th Graduation Ceremony, celebrates yet another milestone by graduating over 2000 students. The colorful ceremony held at its Main Campus in Kansanga saw 34 exceptional students emerging with First Class Honours—a moment that became very proud for both this institution of higher learning and especially these graduating students.
The Vice Chancellor of Kampala International University, Professor Muhammed Ngoma, PhD, gave an inspiring speech to the graduating class on the need to continue building on the skills and knowledge obtained from KIU.
“Go out there and continue to explore the heights. Build the soft and employability skills on top of what we have given you at Kampala International University,” he encouraged the graduates. His words were deep enough, motivating the new alumni to not cease from straining toward excellence in their future endeavors.

Out of these graduates, 34 students excelled with First Class Honours. This clearly shows that KIU offers quality education and cultivates talented minds that will help in the betterment of their respective fields.
Breakdown of Graduates
The ceremony saw a diverse range of qualifications awarded:
- Certificates, Diplomas, and Bachelor’s Degrees: 1,892 graduates
- Postgraduate Diplomas (PGD): 226 graduates
- Master’s Degrees: 186 graduates
- PhDs: 9 graduates
The function also brought out the diversity and vibrancy of the KIU community through its infectious cultural performance dubbed Basoga Nseete, a KIU students’ group. This ensured that there was a very dynamic and festive atmosphere during the event by hugely contributing to the colorful cultural displays that help define Kampala International University as an institution with a truly multicultural environment.
The 29th Graduation Ceremony attested, not only to the Kampala International University’s steady triumph academically and professionally, but profoundly epitomized the university’s continuing commitment to excellence and innovation in higher education. On a sound pedestal, the graduates are poised to make a mark and add value to their respective fields of professionalism for societal development.
