Maria Mutoni, more known as Shifura from famous viral Hoozambe, is the newest town vocalist. She is the lady who, with her killing looks in the Hoozambe video, shined and now looks forward to making it big in music solo.
New Musical Journey
Shifura has sought the services of prominent songwriter and producer White Blood Music, based in Makindye, to guide her through her musical debut. The collaboration is a major step in her transitioning from just video vixen to solo artist. She has already started recording a number of songs, an indication of how determined she is to leave a mark in the music scene.
Twist of Events
This comes after a stormy career with the Hoozambe hitmaker D-Star. Reports have it that Shifura felt betrayed when D-Star went to Kenya without informing her and thereafter dubbing her as just a video vixen and not as his partner in music. This incident, coupled with D-Star’s dismissal of her as a recurring video presence, saw Shifura seek her own path in the world of music.
“I did not travel with her because I thought it was not necessary to travel with a vixen, just like other artists do not travel with their vixens to wherever they go,” D-Star said. Both stars further clarified that it is not nice to have the same vixen in every video that one records, and therefore, he does not have any other plans to feature her on any of his upcoming projects.
Overcoming
Initially, Shifura had been disillusioned by the turn of events, but now she explores other ways to get her career back on the right track. Some other offers were extended to Shifura, like setting up a beauty salon, and even got a scholarship for learning hairdressing. However, this failed to dissolve her passion for making music, and in the end, she concluded that her energies would instead be focused on working on new music material and its release.
According to viable sources, there are a number of upcoming projects lined up by Shifura, which are evidence of her resilience and ambition.
