“First-year student at Kabale University pursuing the Bachelor of Applied Design and Fine Art, Henrick Twesigye, became the first to represent Uganda on the global stage during the just-concluded prestigious Mister Universe Tourism pageant in Bali, Indonesia. Twesigye is the reigning Mr. Tourism Kigezi regional who emerged as the delegate to represent Uganda with its rich Culture and potential for tourism on the global stage.”.
The 5th edition of the Mister Universe Tourism 2024 pageant, themed “Men of Honor, Intellect & Substance,” was held from March 14 to 26, 2024, in Bali, Indonesia. This 2024 edition was to uphold in high spirit the jubilation of resilience and greatness of humanity amid a plethora of mishaps riddling the globe right now, enlightening its people with the richness and importance of culture, heritage, and tourism in the shaping of world identity.
Mr. Universe Tourism promotes tourism through digital marketing in the new normal era, looking forward to times when technology indeed plays a huge role in promoting places as destinations.
The different stages and awards of the competition included Mr. Photogenic, Mr. Multimedia, Mr. Congeniality, Best in Swimwear, Best in National Costume, Best in Formal Wear, and Best in Resort Wear. Each stage required the delegates to wear wardrobes with distinct requirements, reflecting the idiosyncrasy and manner of each country represented.
Mister Universe Tourism 2024 Coronation Night was held on March 24, 2024, at 8 pm GMT+8 at the Bali Nusa Dua Theatre. The said theatre is located in Bali, which is considered Indonesia’s most famous island—at the very center of everything—with a capacity of 600. The venue boasts world-class facilities and international standards.
Participation in the pageant became not only a way of showcasing his charisma and talent but also an avenue to promote Kabale University, rich cultural heritage, and tourism attractions among the global audience. His story exemplifies the spirit of excellence and unyielding determination that has been fostered at Kabale University.
