Innovation Hub Uganda is partnering with the Uganda Institute of Information and Communications Technology in a new initiative of closing the digital divide by creating a Digital Literacy Training Program. This groundbreaking program shall train 500 women and 500 youth with general digital skills for a more productive life in an increasingly digital world.
Self-paced, the program will be conducted online with facilitation from an experienced instructor through specific orientation sessions. The participants will receive comprehensive training in the basics of computer and mobile devices and key skills of digital communication. Upon successful completion of this program, participants are provided with certification both by UICT and Cisco and are assisted in attaining new openings for personal and professional growth.
This is part of an ongoing effort to include underserved communities digitally, make the digital world more inclusive, and create more opportunities in the digital economy.
Applications are now open until 11:59 PM on September 13, 2024. The link to the registration form is below: bit.ly/digitalliteracyregistrationform.
As such, the current program promises to leave a mark in Uganda’s digital space hand in hand with the Ministry of ICT and National Guidance, in collaboration with the ITU.
