Laughter, music, and revelry characterized Sheraton Gardens last night as celebrated comedians Madrat and Chiko marked their 10th anniversary with the highly anticipated Nseko Buseko Season 5 edition, themed “10 Years of Madrat & Chiko.”
The audience that attended the show was a lively combination of well-wishers, fans, and fellow comedians from every walk of life, making it an unforgettable night. The event, emceed by Uncle Mo and Uncle Mark, spoiled the fans with an enviable lineup of performances headlined by some of Uganda’s finest acts. Mesearch Semakula serenaded the patrons with his soulful renditions, Lydia Jazmine kept the audience in a frenzy of dancing with her electric performance, while Dr. Bbosa brought his energy to the stage. Comedians Omala Daniel, Talkers, and Tumbeetu kept the audience over with laughter, while the Victoria University Dancers added to the vibrancy, supported by Shebby Music, DJ Tony, and DJ Nimrod.
The presence of distinguished guests such as the Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Hon. Nyamutoro, and Hon. Nsereko, among others, further gave weight to the occasion, making it a true celebration of Ugandan talent and culture.
As would be expected, Madrat and Chiko headlined the show with their peculiar brand of satire, offering rib-cracking takes on everything from current events to societal issues. The brilliance of these comedians entertained the crowd, but most importantly, it generated conversations that overstated their influence in comedy and the Ugandan entertainment industry.
