Makerere University invites applications for the following posts:
Academic Staff
- 35 positions: Lecturer
Senior academics who have reached the Ph.D. level of education in a relevant program of study and are published in refereed reputable academic journals. - 20 positions: Assistant Lecturers
Young candidates with a Master’s degree and below 40 years of age yearly, with a possibility of a CGPA of 4.0 and above at the time of application.
Non-Academic Positions
- Assistant Administration Officers (10 posts):
They should have excellent organizing and managing skills. The applicants should hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, Management, or the other related field and a working experience of not less than two years. - Administrative Secretaries (3 posts):
They should have good communication and be familiar with office management software. They should have a Secretarial Studies or Office Management Diploma or a degree.
Support Staff
- Library Clerks (6 posts):
A candidate with a Library and Information Science background will be preferable. The job would involve cataloging books, assisting patrons in getting relevant information, and maintaining library resources. - Drivers (6 posts):
The candidates should have a valid driving license without any point deduction and experience of at least five years. - Assistant Accountants (9 posts):
University degree in Accounting or Finance, with demonstrated accountancy software competencies; knowledge in preparation of financial reporting and budgeting. - Post Bus Drivers (7 posts):
Valid license for a professional driver with a good track record of driving experience, not less than five years. - Post Bus Conductors (6 posts):
Effective communication skills, with prior customer service experience. - Mail Handlers (21 positions):
Position open to experienced mail and parcel handlers for effective sorting and delivery. - Office Attendants (21 positions):
Position open for experienced office management personnel—clean, orderly, and efficient—and providing support to staff.
