On this front, Makerere University’s Innovation Pod has teamed up with Kiira Motors Corporation in order to provide unique skills acquisition opportunities for students within the fast-growing electric mobility sector. The new “Skilling Program in Electric Mobility and Associated Technologies” is now available for second- and third-year students to be advanced in hands-on experience and further training in this innovative sector.

- Second- or third-year student
- First-class or upper second-class degree holder
- Eligible fields of study: Electrical, Biomedical, Software, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering, or a Bachelor of Science in Physics

Background:
The Mak-UniPod was launched in January 2024 in partnership with the UNDP Timbaktoo Africa Initiative, which supports projects advancing sustainable technologies and fostering innovation in Uganda.
It is one giant step toward equipping the students with the most critical competencies that the future of transportation and technology requires, in accordance with global trends in sustainability and innovation.
