Darlington, a videographer from Zero One Media, spoke about the controversy that has surrounded Pretty Nicole’s appearance as a vixen in Mikie Wine’s latest music video, “Kankutekemu.” Social media has accused the singer and his team of using Nicole, a minor, in adult-themed content for the video.
Darlington has, however, come out to respond to the criticism, stressing that Nicole’s participation was handled professionally and within the full bounds of the law. He revealed that Nicole had expressed the greatest interest in pursuing an acting career when they first met at his office in Freedom City. Darlington said this presented him with an opportunity to help her realize her dream and subsequently offered her a part in Mikie Wine’s video.
He first proposed a written agreement and sought consent from Pretty Nicole’s mother, who gave consent for her daughter to feature in the project and signed the documents.
Darlington further clarified that Nicole was always guarded at the time of shooting. For instance, he said the shooting at Forest Resort in Lweza, Nicole went with a guardian who ensured she returned home after the shoot.
Darlington, however, is not taking criticism lying down and has defended his decision, ensuring the public that Nicole’s role in the video was addressed ethically; the presence of a guardian furthered security and supervision.
