The famous opposition leader and musician, Cavendish University, has officially confirmed that Bobi Wine will graduate in the upcoming ceremony. This declaration by the university puts to rest recent speculation surrounding his academic achievements attributed to Bobi Wine.
Details of Graduation
It is within reports that Bobi Wine, whose real name is Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, will be awarded the degree amidst 650 other students during Cavendish University‘s 13th graduation ceremony slated on August 8, 2024. The event is slated to take place at Speke Resort Munyonyo and graced by the university’s Chancellor, former Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan.
Clearing the Air
Recent reports have questioned whether Bobi Wine had graduated or if he had fulfilled all the necessary academic requirements. Some dismissed the news as misinformation, while others doubted his participation in a law program.
Addressing these concerns, Cavendish University‘s Vice Chancellor, Dr Olive Sabiiti, said Bobi Wine has indeed completed his studies.
It is true Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu is graduating. For us at Cavendish University, we don’t treat him as an opposition leader but as a student. Ours is an education offering open to all people, regardless of whether Ugandan or not a Ugandan,
Dr Sabiiti, formerly the Dean of the Faculty of Law, said.
Academic Achievements
Dr. Sabiiti said that Bobi Wine had fulfilled all the academic requirements, including class attendance, assessments, examinations, internships, and research projects.
I taught him myself when I was the dean of the Faculty of Law. He attended classes, and his friends took pride in sitting with him. He’s not only a political leader but also a musician loved by many,
she added.
